Daily Photo::4

After dinner fishing adventure on the river.  The kids spent most of their time being archeologists and digging up the remains of an old factory and railroad.  What fun it is to dig up old electrical lines in the sand, bang rusted railroad spikes on rocks, and negotiate with Mom and Dad for how much "treasure" they can bring home!

Daily Photo::3

A misty ride this afternoon to pick up the kids from school, making everything a vibrant green.  Hopefully May showers will bring June flowers.

Daily Photo::1

I've decided to do several months of daily photos throughout this year.  I need some serious motivation to get back into blogging.  I am hoping this will help!  May will be my first photo-a-day challenge. I'll be posting a photo each day this month along with a short description.  Enjoy!

Tristan has graduated to 2 hands today!  He was born at 2:57am on May 1st, a nice and robust 8lbs 13ozs and 21 inches.  This morning when I told him Happy Birthday he asked if it were 3 a clock in the morning.  When I said no (it was 6:30am) he said then it wasn't his birthday yet.  Maybe we should have gotten him a clock for his birthday...

Halloween pictures (better late than never!)

The Snow Queen casting her spell on me (ie, she really didn't want to smile for a picture) and Dark Knight (aka Big Muscles) Batman.  Kai was, well, a baby this year.  :-)  First time EVER I didn't make their costumes for Halloween.  The sad thing is they seemed more excited to pick them out from a store than when I made them for them.  Maybe it's because they didn't have to try it on a hundred times before they could actually wear it!  Ah well, fun (and a sugar high) was had by all.

Dividing of the spoils!

For my dad

And anyone else who likes pictures of a cute baby!

The beautiful quilt Kai is laying on is a family handmade, family passed down heirloom I have been blessed to inherit.  After my grandfather's death this summer, my parents found tons (probably literally!) of family pictures from the past 100+ years.  Apparently in the midst of that photographic history are several pictures of my grandpap, his sister and maybe some other relatives as babies laying on beautiful family handmade quilts.  Here's to carrying on that tradition that includes 2 of my favorite things in the whole world: hand sewn fabric goodness and people I love!
